Scraping together any materials possible, these new arrivals begin making a temporary shelter to withstand the elements in Dadaab’s refugee camp.
Community is strong here. Newer arrivals have formed makeshift families in order to share what little they have with each other while older refugees have opened their homes and arms to those in need. Compassion is apparent in Dadaab, whether by coming together to build a hut or easing a new refugee’s transition into the camps, this community is doing its best to care for each other.
