Despite the strange cannibalistic stories that have popped up in news recently (see here and here), it appears a zombie apocalypse is not yet upon us. These awful stories illustrate the worst sides of humanity, but we hold on to hope for a world filled with justice, dignity and peace.
What else is happening around the world? Here are this week’s stories, excavated from page 7a:

- The Polio Problem: The original goal of global eradication set for 2005 has come and gone with a new goal of 2012. Despite the setbacks, with the help of aid, lowered poverty rates and governmental support, this goal seems entirely possible.
