Photo Friday: Refuge in Dadaab
Posted on 16. Sep, 2011 by Amy Burke in Africa, Emergency Response, Kenya
The worst drought in 60 years has left millions of people at the brink of starvation. Their crops have died along with their livestock. Without any means to feed themselves, tens of thousands have flocked here to Dadaab, Kenya — home to the world’s largest refugee camp.
Lutheran World Relief, along with partner Lutheran World Federation, are working diligently to provide immediate relief efforts by identifying vulnerable refugees, supplying social services, shelter, basic necessities, and promoting security within the camps.
